Clarius Mobile Health was founded to empower every medical professional with accurate, easy to use and affordable imaging tools. We’re miniaturizing high quality point-of-care ultrasound to offer a safe and cost-effective option for all clinicians in every specialty. Since we sold our first wireless handheld ultrasound scanner in 2016, more than 20,000 clinicians have used Clarius to improve their ability to diagnose or treat patients. We’ve embarked on an exciting stage with the recent launch of our next generation scanner incorporating feedback from customers and the benefits of advancing technology.


We have an exciting opportunity for a Controller to join our growing and dynamic finance team. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, the Controller will be responsible for:

  • Leading the accounting function, including guiding the growth and evolution of the accounting team, managing employees and delivering results through coaching and mentoring.
  • Providing oversight of day-to-day financial transactions (journal entries, invoicing, payments, bank reconciliations, etc)
  • Ensuring timely and accurate month end close
  • Managing/preparing monthly financial reporting packages for the Board of Directors and other external stakeholders
  • Managing/preparing annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Liaising with external auditors
  • Managing corporate tax filings (Canada and international) and other government filings
  • Establishing and maintaining best-practice financial policies, procedures, and controls
  • Routine cash management including weekly cashflows
  • Developing a growing high-performance finance team, including hiring, coaching and performance management


In addition to the routine responsibilities outline above, there will be a number of Special Projects that the Controller will be involved in. For starters:

  • Evaluate and streamline financial and operational processes that enable a company to scale
  • Research and recommend new technology, where practical, to promote efficient and effective operations
  • Develop and prepare monthly financial data packages that enable department heads to meet corporate objectives
  • Research tax implications as we grow and expand our business
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects as necessary (e.g. financings, strategic partnerships, etc)
  • Assist with ad-hoc reporting and other projects, as necessary


Who you are:
The successful candidate will have/be:

  • Strong computer proficiency with advanced skill levels in MS Excel, accounting systems
  • A self-starter with proven success managing priorities and multi-tasking in a highly dynamic environment
  • A professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent)
  • A minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in accounting/finance
  • Integrity, reliability, and the ability to manage self, and others, with urgency, practicality, and accountability
  • Knowledge and experience implementing financial systems and other software is an asset
  • Experience with Netsuite is an asset
